Re: New To Harleys

42mm is way big for a 1200 Sporty, too rich obviously as it loads up in traffic. Follow this post.

Ive watched this post for a few days now and not seen many replies

A# as you have all the stage 1 kit fitted you already have a crank vent breather fitted, if you ever remove your air filter you will see two Allen bolts holding the back-plate on, look again and you will see they are hollow?
these go directly into the rocker boxes, in the boxes are umbrella flap valve's which give a one way circuit from the crank case causing the gas to be re burnt via the carb.
gimmick vent valve's don't work and are a waste of money,
B# into pirates? well i know pirates as untrustworthy unscrupulous villans who stole ships so as to attack and raid other ships, in the olden days.
well they are gone, but today we have the equivalent they are called main dealers. find a good independant outlet.

anyway. your problem when idling?
sounds to me (a 42mm should be quite capable of running a 1200 sportie) that the pilot mixture screw wants adjusting to give a smooth tickover, and or your pilot jet is too big.
