Re: Good Price 1200c ?

yep seems a good price.I got a 1995 1200,with 17000 on the clock, and the same sort of goodies thats on the bike your thinking of buying.
I paid£ 2500 cash,+ p/x fo a suzuki gs500,1997 which was £900 booked...Made me happy.

So £3995 for a 1200 sport y1999,with all the goodies is a good deal.

.And they hold there price too

Re: Good Price 1200c ?

Before buying anything I'd get a test drive of a new one from a dealer. This will let you feel the difference between the solid and rubber mount versions. Also, fwiw, the first Sportster I drove was a 1200C. I hated it so much I almnost abandoned the whole idea of getting a Harley. Fortunately the 1200R I tried next was excellent.

Re: Good Price 1200c ?

Good advice here!

Is the owner a club member?..always a good indicator (no pun intended!), in which case someone on here will know the owner.

Does it come with a full Service History? - VERY IMPORTANT, not many of us would buy a bike unless it has one or we knew the owner and trusted he had done it himself/herself.

The question is (funds aside)...do the included extras make the bike better value for money than a new one?

Personally I would go for a new rubber mount 883 and 'personalise it' as money and whim allows, you can usually screw the dealer into a 'Stage one' for a knock down price....but just insist on a rejet rather than an expensive dynojet kit. You also get two years warranty, and although (touch wood!) you will probably never need it, it's nice to have it there...years Breakdown (same applies) and a chance to win a trip to Sturgis!

Of forgot with a new one you also get a Years Subscription to HOG......

Good Luck, look forward to seeing you out there soon
