Sporty evo 1200?

Whats involved in a 883 to 1200 conversion? Obviously the barrells and the pistons, are the heads the same or does work need to be done? If so what? do the rockerboxes need changing? Thanks for any help.

Just a rebore and pistons, but you can ge kits that include exchange barrells, heads need no work, you can get wiseco pistons some people will probably recomend Kieth? Black pistons its a matter of choice really, Ive found this out from research one thing that seems to matter is if you have a rebore get the work done by a reputable firm pref one that has worked with Harley's before
you will get lots of help from the guys that use this forum

do a search in the forums there should be plenty of info there

Read the parts book carefully, there are certain combinations that work well & others that do not.
You cannot for instance put stock 1200 pistons in without doing headwork to reduce compression.

Re: Sporty evo 1200?

A few here have done this conversion (myself included), it is quite straigh forward.

Got my kit from ebay, came with barrels pistons and all gaskets needed.

If you do a search for the threads i'm sure you will find them.

If you do have your barrels bored out do as swampig says, go to someone who has done this before. there is quite a lot of material to take away and you dont want to rush it.
