| Rear Light, licence plate
I'm not particularly keen on the "upside down" rear light / number plate arrangement that my 1200r has. I was thinking about fitting something like these http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/produc...19&tlgrp=MC003 but was a bit frightened when I removed the standard rear light and found umpteen wires and some sort of junction box. Most of the electical system seemed to be shoved in there! Has anybody fitted a generic aftermarket rear light and how big a job was it. I did it on my last bike but that only had three wires going to the light unit! |

The 'Junction box' is where the main harness connects to the various bits. i.e. rear/brake light and the indicators. You could move it backwards to under the seat to keep it dry and lengthen the light wires to reach or do away with it and just splice your new lighting into it.

Thanks, I'll have a proper look at it again. So far, I've just undone the light, seen lots of wires, freaked out and put it all back together!

After another look I went for the simpler solution of buying a slightly smaller number plate and with a touch of finesse, a great deal of brute force, a vice, a hacksaw and a drill, converted the standard number plate holder into a layback one. Its amazing what a few degrees from vertical make to the look of the thing. |
