Re: '04 Sporster...

HI Timbo

I had same problem with pitting inthe end I used a rounded piece of wood to enable me to apply pressure in the correct direction with s100 came up OK then plenty of polish to ensure that the crap was easy to clean off. Now back with spoked wheel.

Re: '04 Sporster...

Just bought a fatboy rear wheel.
Removed it today, as I am about to put it in to get it powder coated BLACK.
I did this with my rocker covers last year. They are easy to keep clean and they look smart also.

I've got the same problem with mine Tim. Tried using Autosol on it and very quickly decided it was going to be a lot of hard work! Think I'll put up with mine until I can afford to replace it; not sure if I want a mirror chrome disc wheel or spokes.

Re: '04 Sporster...

Fatboybass had his fatboy solid wheels polished up. Very nice they were too. £160-00 for the pair

Might be an option for you.

Re: '04 Sporster...

Same here. I took it to the local dealers and they're replacing it under warranty. Apparently its a common problem.

Re: '04 Sporster...

it shouldnt happen but until they coat the wheel in something more protective than thin air then they will have to do as they do now.
i didnt think the HD warrenty covered corrosion on the alloy parts?
