Hi Swampig!

Is that a sundowner seat on your bike? How do you rate it?

Hi Jase
Its just an ordinary sportster seat but its not from this model when I bought the bike the guy replaced the original, which was ripped, with another he had, it says sportster on the side but I have no Idea which one ;) Bum was a tad numb when I got the bike back but I guess it would have been the same whatever seat was on it!

Re: Ideal Bike / Suspension

More riding today (before the wind and rain ruined the day) and found out my horn is buggered, it makes a dull honk! Also, something I don't remember from the test drive, the horn vibrates at anything over 30mph and is really bugging me! It is almost stinging my left leg! Can it be removed or relocated?

Rode 2 up for the first time today and found out I really need to adjust my suspension, my mrs is taller than me (I am 5 10) and whilst she is slimmer than me I still felt the suspension is too soft. I read in the manual that the tool to adjust it is one you have to buy. No problem but before I do is there any advice? What settings? How does it effect single riding?

Cheers

Jason

Re: Ideal Bike

i had my shocks turned up full, i think there are four steps. im a big guy but it was still fairly soft. dont think they are much cop in general. i managed to turn it with a large flat bar and a mallet if i recall. i didnt buy the tool. it will turn with the right amount of force. just be very careful you dont scratch the chrome.

Re: Ideal Bike

Hi Harleyjase

I bought the tool for altering suspension - are you going to any rallies? I can bring it with me

When Ian upped my suspension he said there were only 2 settings and the hardest is not enough to cope with both of us on my bike - we weigh about 35 stone combined so its a bit much for my poor Sporty I will either have to get more robust springs or loose weight

there is another thread on here with advice about springs with links to appropriate information

Re: Ideal Bike

Thanks for the offer! I am not sure yet if I will be going to rallies, the rugrat kinda ties us both down!

Might just go ahead and order the tool from guernsey when I order the layback plate!

Has anyone had the problem with the vibrating horn?
