Re: Ideal Bike

Why order one It's only a C spanner Any bike shop or even Halfords sell them. You just need to get the diameter it's going round. There is adjustable ones available. They are not expensive. If you know anyone in engineering there's a good chance they may even have a spare one.

Re: Ideal Bike

Most twin shock diameters at the adjustment end are fairley similar. I use an old jap c spanner i've got(yam or honda) no problem at all.
Having said that it's no use trying to adjust the standard sportster shocks cos they'r shit.Ever heard of the phrase, "There's no point in polishing a turd". Just about sums it up, and most agree.

Re: Ideal Bike

No use at all? So if I adjust em and the missus still bounces up and down what can I do about it? It will only be very occasional use so buying new rear suspension seems kinda rude!?

I wouldn't say they're no use at all ,but I have mine on the hardest setting and they still bottom out when I've got the wife on the back. She's only 8 1/2 stone. I've spent enough this year but next years shopping list definately includes a pair of shocks, probabley Hagon's.

Re: Ideal Bike

I used

from http://www.cromwell.co.uk/index

Only a tenner, lots of other sizes available, think i opted for KEN-582-9600K 3/4-2" ADJUSTABLE 'C' HOOK WRENCH

For adjustment obviously, not for her indoors to bounce up and down on

Re: Ideal Bike

Just come back from our first serious 2up ride. The suspension is better, actually miles better, used all four adjustments all the way to the hardest! We have a lot of speed bumps on the way in to our estate and with the adjusted suspension there was no bottoming at all.
