Ideal Bike

Hello again!

I am due to get my 1200c today or tomorrow and I am just wondering, in an ideal world what would you guys put on it? Stage1? Flat bars? 19" Alloy front wheel? Which bits of chrome? Which seat? Which SE exhausts? Etc. Just for fun!

Re: Ideal Bike

definitly stage one, why put a 19" on? it might not look as good with the custom styling of the bike. just my opinion.
vance and hines do some nice sporty pipes, as do pipedreamz in the us, and there prices are pretty good too.

Re: Ideal Bike

Just got home on it! My first 40 miles! I had previously only ridden a bike with the stage 1 and there is a difference but I will do that after the first service!

The 19inch wheel looks great, the bike that started all this for me had one (see pic) and it looked great!

Anyway, off to leather the rain off it!

Re: Ideal Bike

Congratulations - I'm sure you'll love it!

I did what you're planning, had the Stage 1 done at 1,000 mile service time - something else to look forward to

As for what to add.....it's your blank canvas - me, I've just put bits of chrome on here and there, bit by bit. Have fun

Re: Ideal Bike

If your planning to do a lot of touring I'd fit foot boards. Just fitted some to my sporty and it has transformed the bike. It's a lot more relaxing ride now.

Re: Ideal Bike

Yeah! I like them!

I would like a flatter bar as well, the ape hangers aren't for me though!

I am ordering the layback plate holder and have ordered a 7.25b4.25 number plate. I was tempted to go for a black plate as my bike is vivid black but opted for the yellow plate. It is the law after all!

The bike is so different from the ducati it replaced, I rode 40 miles without crippling back and neck ache!

I will try to put more miles on it tomorrow, anyone got any run in advice? The dealer says up to 50miles keep it to 50mph but after that I can open it a little, maybe for the next 50 keep it to 60 and so on...What do you guys reckon?

Thanks again for the advice regarding Guernsey. The dealers don't tell you anything! Whilst waiting for mine I got chatting to a guy who was pickng his Dyna up and he said he hated the number plate but the dealer hadn't told him about the layback plate.

Outside I got chatting to a guy with a 1200low and he told me to join the hatters club to get 10% off so I passed on the Guernsey info!

I have got to say, it is like joining a club buying any motorbike but Harleys seem to transcend age and grouping.

Roll on the good weather!
