| pet-cock problem
I'm sure the best way to find out is to strip it down, but I'm rushed off my feet at the moment, so any help gratefully received. Noticed the other day that the petrol stop cock is not turning off. It moves into the off position but petrol is still flowing, well I got to work and back with it set in off position (normally i can only get 100yds if I forget). Anyone experianced this (2003 Hugger)?

Turn it around, 1 inch spanner. Take the back off (four philips screws & don`t foget fuel will come out), clean the diaphragm & plunger.....should work. You have probably had some water in the petrol causing corrosion.

Tracked the problem down. The rubber gasket that sits in the petcock under the lever (i.e. remove 2 screws pop of lever and there it is), the one that looks like a smilie has a chunk missing (between one eye and the mouth of the smilie). This allows fuel to keep flowing even when in the off position. Anyone know a part number or do I have to buy the whole assembly ?

| Re: pet-cock problem I've bought one for the Ironhead before, think they're in most of the aftermarket catalogues.
