Wanted: large tank for 05 Sporty

Hiya

Does anyone have a large tank to fit a 2005 Sportster R ? - I need one to go touring in Sept this year

Also I am looking for forwards to fit this model and a comfy seat

If you do change the tank dont forget to make sure that the seat you get is for the Custom model as they are not interchangeable (just in case you didnt know )

Hi I have the large tank to fit my 05 xl883 also the double seat that fits with it. if you are interested give me a call and I can email photos. I don't use it as I run the single seat and small tank ,when I used the big tank I got over 200 miles before hitting reserve,the tank is black and silver and is a genuine 05 tank not an aftermarket one.tel 01792586829 Mark.

If you are intersted I still have the Black Sportster tank I picked up at Freds jumble last year, it has a blemish in the paint on the top, no problem if you are looking for a paint job.

I decided I could not be arsed to get the top sparayed and prefered the look with the small tank so did not fit it to my R

Yours for the same price I paid £40 if you want to collect.





We've also got a new 1200/883 Custom Badlander seat but would not recomend that for Touring. Kitty fitted it on her 883 Custom went for a decent ride and took it right off as it was uncomfortable, the standard seat was better, it looked good though!

Magick, I have the standard seat for the custom that I am not using.If you want to use it only for the trip you are more than welcome to borrow it .I am not sure how comfy it would be though for a long trip.If you get a tank and want to try the seat out for comfort,you can borrow it.If no good,just keep hold of it until you sort out a more suitable alternative,then return it.
