| Battery fubar
Hello I have just unpacked my bike from winter storage and the battery was completely flat . I have charged it up and am reading 13v across the battery but when i try to start the bike the starter turns a couple of times and then the battery dies. Would the battery be fubar or could there be a fault with the wireing. Any advice would be appreciated cos i am a bit of a fiko when it comes to elctrics..... |

Providing your bike fired up ok when you stored it, and there is no damage to your wiring caused by little rodents, i would suspect your battery. After full charge i would expect a voltage of 13.8, and if it dies after turning a couple of times this again sounds like battery problem. Make sure your contacts are clean, both on the battery anf on the connection terminals. Charge your battery again, it might need a long charge to get it back to life. If still no joy i'd go for a new un'

Crude drop test should help, although you will need three hands, test the battery while turning the bike over it shouldnt drop below 10volts? if it does use it as a door stop. Tooty |
