Nightster

On the H-D UK site they're showing the Nightster for 2008.

The side mount plate didn't make it, but I guess we were expecting that.

Re: Nightster

The UK spec seems to have a fender extender carrying the central (not side mounted) number plate and side reflectors.

I like the photo better on the Australian spec H-D site. Click browser update below for the pic (don't know why!)

I think they just used the same pics as on the US site for the 360° and rear shots, but the main pic in the Overview shows a plate hanging off the back of the mudguard.

I don't think they've announced prices yet, but in the States it's priced mid way between the 1200 Low and the 1200 Custom.

Re: Nightster

Looks well better in person. I very much enjoy it. With the 1200R & Buell engine, it goes like a rocket & very smooth.
BEWARE! Back & kidney problems are not well served by the very low & stiff rear suspension though. An absolute blast to ride though.

Can you tell me more about this? What exactly is supposed to be the difference between this engine and the one in the Custom and Low?

On the H-D site, it describes all the 1200 engines as having "high compression, high flow heads, performance cams". This is in both the section for 2007 bikes and the new one for 2008. I've been told that the '07 parts book shows exactly the same parts for them too. Haven't checked this personally, but I do know that the '05 parts book shows no difference between that year's 1200R and 1200C engines: same heads, same pistons, same cams.
