Question anyone else had same problem

hi all just i just thought i would ask if anyone has had the same problem , here we go was riding back yesterday bike running fine then just got into village where i live , when she just stopped dead on me spun her over ok nothing. got power to everything , so pushed her to next turning and got out adjustable took plug out spun no spark tried other lead nothing still (thats after i had put her on reserve) so got out muti tool took off timing cover (screw on as got hi 4 ) anyway lights on so power to module spun over no flashing of red light big problem so it was a push job as only 1/3 mile but i live at top of hill what a killer anyway straight to the point , removed moduel plate and just behind it you have your sensor which is bolted straight to your crank with two cut outs well mine had sheared all the way round so got new one being sent by good mate . so moral of this is if it breaks your fcked so check yours as it gives no warning and its a non contact part

How unlucky is that!! never, ever heard of that happening before.
Still, a first time for everything.
Good diagnostics but a bummer of a push home.

Jaybe, what year is your m/c? Is she recent or going back a few years? Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but I suppose you were lucky that it didn't happen any further away from your home.

Re: anyone else had same problem

That may have been a friday night 5pm part lol.

On a serious note, we used to make knock outs in sheet metal when i was a kid. They can also be used as a way of spacing someting out without a whole lot of machining. One quick stamp and it's done.

If you have a piece of metal that is a slightly different quality it will react differently in the press.

Obviously this has been like this for years and it just happen when you were out on your ride so i very much doubt that it would ever happen again.

Glad it was an east fix for you.

PS if you dont get that replacment i have one you can have.....buckshee
