I thought the question was just about restricting a Sportster.
And my answer was 'yes, and I did not encounter any problems'.

Recommend it as a first bike?-you will get used to the weight-I did spend several hours after passing my test riding The Sportster around a car park.
I did not pass my test to ride Japanese, I wanted a Harley.
Yes it is a top heavy bike, took the forwards off as I prefer mids.
I do believe that I am not the only female rider, in this club, who rode/rides a restricted Sportster, participates in this forum, are not dictated to by our menfolk, and none of us wanted Japanese
