| Re: Air filter cleaner it says non-flammable - petrol is erm highly flammable infact explosive. If you really want to clean the filter get a K&N filter filter cleaning kit this has cleaner and oil to re oil the filter

| Re: Air filter cleaner Petrol in fact is perfect for cleaning air filter elements foam or wire mesh. The reason that they dont recommend that you use it is to cover their backsides if you inadvertantly fry yourself in the process. Common sense is the main requirement here ie dont smoke, make sparks, switch off your mobile etc while you are sloshing the element about in a bowl of volatile liquid. Do it in a well ventilated space and squeeze out or shake off the soaked up fuel, give it 15 minutes or so to evaporate off the element and its ready to oil. You dont have to take my advice, my eyebrows and hair are almost grown back to normal allready ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Re: Air filter cleaner Cheers Baz. Thing is, does petrol have any long term effect on the rubber that the filter is attached to, ie, does it rot the rubber? FR |
