Starter Motor

Help!!!!!
Just put the newly polished sides back on me scruffy sporty and tried to start it. just a chattering noise from the starter motor & nowt else.Whats wrong, how do i fix it can anyone give aid please.........

??????? Need some more detail than that mate. Year? Model? What chrome sides? Sounds like a dead battery.

I had this problem every now 'n then with my Sporty..........

Was generally caused by a loose terminal on the battery.

A quick turn with a spanner and all was well again.
