Re: some have it, others don't - a bar between the exhausts...?

Alas I fitted a D&D system so the loss may have been covered by a better system.

Re: some have it, others don't - a bar between the exhausts...?

First off, hello to everyone. I’m new to the forum having just purchased a 2002 1200.

Secondly this thread caught my eye because I would like to get rid of the balance pipe off my bike.
I’m assuming if I fit an after market exhaust I will probably need to re-jet the carb, but would this be necessary if I just cut the balance pipe off and weld the holes up?

The bike already has a pair of screaming Eagle mufflers and the exhaust is black rather than chrome so I recon I could do a neat enough job on the patches.

thanks
