Question anybody lowered 883 rear end?

anyone got any suggestions on replacement indicators that dont protrude very much or not at all into the rear wheel arch.I've fitted 11.5" shocks, replaceing the 13"ers (got dodgy leg, need both heels on the deck)all seemed well ,looked like plenty of clearance heightwise from top of tyre to wheel arch roof, side stand teeny bit comprimised but livewithable but after reading a post on here that mentioned the indicator stalks rubbing i got a large neighbour to bounce up and down on the pillion but it was hard to tell if the tyres were clearing widthwise(looked pretty close) anyway i went and tested anyway and sure enough I've got me two nice little tramlines each side of the tyre about 1.mm deep on the tread and .5 on the side wall.Theres a spacer on each stalk which i removed, then shortened and rethreaded the connecting bolt but i think its still rubbing and thats with only the bolthead protruding.I'm contemplating taking the litttle dremel burr to the bolt head to lose another couple of mil(i know I prob' wont get the bolts out again without drilling them out but i can do that in the winter),just dont want to take off the backwheel again (b*std to put back on, on your owneo)SORRY to be so long winded but back to the original Q I've seen those little cats eyes blinkers on Ebay has anyone fitted these and how far do they poke into the wheel arch/mudguard/fender .OR has anyone got a cunning plan but please dont say "fit a wider fender"

Re: anybody lowered 883 rear end?

You could increase the damping or preload on the shocks. Or replace if necessary.

There are loads of other options

PM sent.

Re: anybody lowered 883 rear end?

you do not say what year?
my 2004 and 2006 custom version runs 11.5 shocks and does not suffer from this issue even with me and the wife sat on it and i was looking at running it even lower

small suggestion stick the pre load at max and see if that helps other than that get hagon to build you a custom set, i am assuming you bought progressive

You could always "fit a wider fender"

If it can't be fixed by Gaffer tape or WD40 then it's a female issue :-)
