Re: Air Filter

I agree with scotty, been using K&N in cars and bike for 15 years and always very happy.
Think that most of the aftermarket AC flow more air than the 883 or 1200 could consume anyway.
I have no issue (and will be) running a K&N for my 09 883R

Re: Air Filter

Best filter is the K&N type forcewinder for performance. Better than SE.

Re: Air Filter

ive had 50+ bikes over the last 25 yrs...quite a few have had k&n's fitted and set up on dyno etc.....normally ran okish for a few weeks..then similar symptoms on each bike..stuttery riding low revs( like walking a big dog on a lead)..not nice esp on roundabouts..always gon back to oe filter and normal service resumes......yes im aware 1000's of people have not no issues with em, there either lucky or they dont notice bad running/ride alot..i ride 25000 miles a year, also im not the only perosn i know to have had bad K&n experiances....hence my post saying se' all the way...no problems with my current setup..each to there own tho..its just my view..

Re: Air Filter

Looks the bizz but i do wonder what the maximum air consumption of an 883 or 1200 is? we all look for "max flow" but if the engine can only pull "85 Cuft a minute whats the point in something that can flow 120??

This is a real question as the figures I have used are just illustrations.

Totally agree Lee, everyone likes different bikes and different feelings. To each their own and long may that continue!

Re: Air Filter

Agreed the main reason I changed mine was to stop oil leaking out all over the bike through the air filter.

Harleys are hardly performance bikes anyway.

Re: Air Filter

And the fact that it scares the shit out of you sitting at speeds that would normally be a breeze. You have to ride them. My Jap bike is boring unless you are going silly speeds.
