sporty mpg

probs been asked numerous times....but, just wondered what everyones sporty is returning on mpg???
..reason i ask, is that after only having mine for the last 3 weeks..after having sportsbikes for the last 25 yrs...im very surprised to be getting 70+ mpg on a run and 60+ round town....tis great tho..over 200 to a tank( 3.25g)

Re: sporty mpg

My 1200C is a bit more thirsty. The last tank took 16.2 litres for 121 miles.
I make that just under 34 mpg!!!!!

Stage 1 with SE2s and Kuryakyn hypercharger.

Re: sporty mpg

when i first got my bike - an 883 with a 1200 conversion with se11 and 180 main jet, 43 pilot it was doing 41 but after taking the carb apart, cleaning it and fitting an ezjust - which is 5 turns out - (and the plugs look 'about' right) is doing 55.

Just about run in then. You might get a little more with time but I doubt it. The main improvement with time will be that the bike becomes smoother. I have an 883-05 = 10,000 and I get similar mpg as does my mate on his 883 which has done 60,000. His 1200-03 has done 28,000 and normally gives 55 mpg. The big change over the last 20,000 miles has been how much smoother the bike has become. The best is yet to come.

My 1200C 07 EFI returns 120 - 140 depending on how hard I run her before the warning light comes on....

Re: sporty mpg

I get 55 MPG on my stock 883r but then it has only done 300 miles from new so I would think it will get better as things wear in.
