2007 Sportster Neutral Light

Hi guys,

Just bought a 2007 Sportster Custom

Only query I have, is that the neutral light does not seem to work.

Had it transported yesterday from Kent down to South Wales, and the light was working OK before that - so is it likely to be a loose switch?

I did have a search about on the subject, but can't see any questions about the 07 light.

Thanks

Check the lamp.

Check for voltage at the plug.

Go from there.

Re: 2007 Sportster Neutral Light

was it a dealer, get your local one to sort it out.

if not, as hog says check the bulb and voltage. the switch is behind the drive sprocket housing on the right hand side. should be able to do a quick check without removing the housing (assuming you have standard pipes) by disconnecting the connector on the lower right hand side of the engine just forward of the drive sprocket (as far as i can see there is only one connector but make sure) and putting it to ground with the ignition on. the light will light. if it does then the switch is either faulty or has become disconnected if it doesnt then there is a wireing fault or the bulb has blown, cant see a fuse and the switch goes directly to ground when it opperates. just a matter of how difficult it is to check the bulb first!
