Another Fuel Tank Question

I have a 2006 carb'd sporty custom and need to get some paint done on the tank. The obvious thing to do is to get hold of another custom tank, as I don't want the bike of the road for long.

My question is can I fit a smaller tank on for a temporary measure without any modifications? Will the only difference be a gap between the tank and seat?

Just checking my options before I try getting a second hand tank.

Problem solved, have now got another custom tank.

Looking for a solo seat now
