Re: Do I have a warranty claim?

Update

Richard just called me from Leeds Harley, and told me the whole wheel will have to be replaced as the spindle has eaten into the hub and damaged the wheel centre

He is having to order the wheel and says if he can get one from Belgium it may be a week, but if it has to come from the States it could be asl long as 3 MONTHS!!!!

Will wait a to see if he can get one in a week if not I will not be happy cant do to be of the road for that long, I will be enquiring if they have a courtesy bike or somethin !!

He also told me the rear wheel sprocket/pulley is no different to any other Harley said they all shed chrome of the teeth on the rear sprocket/pulley. This bothers me as in the Harley manual it states that if the chrome on the teeth comes off it HAS to be replaced.
How does everyone elses chrome look like on the sprocket? anybody else with this problem?

Looks like my sporty is gonna be off the road for a long time and I am truly gutted

Re: Do I have a warranty claim?

Update
Went in to see the guys at Leeds Harley and to ask what can be done about my bike being of the road for so long, ended up having a row with the guy behind the counter who was dealing with my warranty claim. He was one of the most arrogant ignorant people I have had the misfortune to deal with.

From my first telephone converstation with this guy, to my first meeting with him, he has made me feel as if he was the person with the grievance and not me. I cant believe that after spending over 7k on a bike with them 14 months back they treat a customer with such a lack of respect. The guy was actually shouting at me at the top of his voice at one stage!! he said they had done me a favour bringing the bike in as Harley do not provide recovery of the vehicle, which I was gratefull for but it did take them a week and half to do so.

I was finally asked by one of the sales staff what the problem was so I laid it all out again, and he could not have been more helpfull nothing but praise for Brian and the other sales staff both are bikers with Harleys and are great to get along with but the backroom service guy forget it!

I told Brian I was looking at getting a fat bob later in the year but was now having grave doubts after dealing with this guy. He offered me loan of a Super Glide Custom which was very much appreciated until my bike is fixed.

All in all I am still not happy as the rear sprocket should have been replaced as it clearly states in the Harley manual about chrome wearing of it should be replaced.

I am still having major doubts about sticking with Harley after this sort of treatment, I will see how I feel once I get my be-loved Sporty back.
