V&H Short Shots.....will they fit?

Hi Guys, I have a year 2000 1200 sportster sport. I love the look of the Vance and Hines Short Shot exhausts.
My question is will these fit my year of bike. My bike is fitted with mid-controls.

Short shots were designed to fit 2004 upwards with forward controls and will not fit your model,have you considered Straightshots,they definately fit.

Thanks guys, I had my doubts!!! thought i would check with you experts first. I already have aftermarket pipes, just love the look of the short shots. Ah well I suppose I will have to sell mine and buy a newer sportster or Street Bob.
