| adjustable or moving passenger pegs
Hi I need to get Sue a little more comfort on the bike (xl1200c). Have a super comfy sundowner seat and sissy bar so doing quite well but she would like the passenger footpegs to be an inch or two further forwards (fussy eh). it might stop her sliding into me when the suspension bottoms out !! (suspension upgrade coming when funds permit) Has anyone moved the footpegs, or got a recommendation for adjustable pegs or thoughts as to a possible solution before I waste some hard earned cash. thanks as usual nick |

I think I have seen footboards to replace the pegs somewhere. You could try those.

i put footboards on mine, but that was 18 years ago, still gt them on, but dunno why, i have a single seat now ;) to save money id use cable ties to strap her legs to the frame , she then may not moan so much about the riding position and think the pegs should stay exactly where they are rofl

Nick, I don't know Sportsters well, but on my Dyna the rear pegs are fastened to a subframe that hides behind the gearbox. It is easily removed, hence modified with a red and black spanner (welding kit!). If your Sporty uses such a system you may only need a friendly welder and a pot of black paint. Alternatively a pair of welded on plates to move the pegs where you want them?

| Re: adjustable or moving passenger pegs
On my 2003 the passenger pegs are fitted to the swinging arm. With the result that the passengers legs get plenty of exersise (knackered) as every bump results in the legs having to take up the movement of the swinging arm. A bit of a design floor hat I have yet to overcome, there's got to be a way of fitting a chasis mount. Anyone come across a fix.

Brigg don't know you very well so can't comment on your previous propensity towards bollox, but this time you are spot on. Karen at fatboyz has also suggested to the Kuryakin offset pegs - they do either 2" or 4" for about £70 ish; they come in either fixed or adjustable varieties. They are offset by about an inch (apparently), helps clear the pipes. One of the guys in the US has used these to attach mini floorboards (he will email me some photos) but I think we'll try it with the stock pegs first and maybe change to mini boards if this doesn't lead to complete pillion satisfaction ![]() thanks all, another little problem resolved - all i have to do is decide on 2" or 4", part with a little cash and be on my merry, noisy , and slightly vibey way.cheers nick |

| Re: adjustable or moving passenger pegs
Just recently put footboards on my 1200R. Just took the circlips off the pin that secured the existing passenger pegs, and the boards mount on the same way as pegs. Manufactured by Tour ease and purchased from Harley Main dealer for about £60. They don't fold away like they do on bigger Harleys but if you're not fussed then go for it. Rich |

| Re: adjustable or moving passenger pegs
My wifey (also Sue) had problems with knee stiffness on even short trips, so I fitted the kuyakin mini wings - not as big as footboards, but a bit of a flatter surface than standard pegs which keeps her leg at the right angle. They've worked a treat and look cool to boot! Very straightforward replacement.
