Nightster

Hi, been out of the Harley scene for a while, my previous Harley's have been Fatboy's, but I can't afford one of those now. Thinking about a 2009 Nightster and would appreciate your opinions.

Re: Nightster

Test ride the XR1200 before you commit yourself to a nightster!
Goes, stops and handles, everything a Harley shouldnt do, had one for twelve months, also got a softail.
In my mind the XR is the dogs bollocks, the most fun you are ever gonna have on a Harley!
Dont go for the bling, go for the real thing..

Re: Nightster

Luvd it.
But didn't like the 'catch yer ankle' stumps under the footpegs(could be ground off) or the 'wheelbarrow' handlebars-but did get used to them after 40 miles.

Go on, go for it. You know you want to

This is the thing that worries me. Only Harley's I've had have been Fatboy's. Will the Sporty scratch my itch, or will I be looking to "upgrade" soon?

The Sporty's great, and brings out the hooligan in me compared to he Road King, but if you like the whole laidback softail business, forget it. You'll be changing bikes in a matter of months. You could probably get a decent Evo softail for the price of Nightster and all...

Cheers

Mike

You will never have the urge to scratch again if you go for an XR1200...
it wipes the floor with the Fatboy in every respect except bling, if thats your thing!

Re: Nightster

I don't agree, Scotty.

The XR1200 is a great bike. Handles beautifully. Stable. Fast. Great brakes. Better in ever way than the Nightster.

But a bit too perfect and sanitary for me. I vastly preferred the low and narrow Nightster though recognising the technical superiority of the new bike.

And the softail is completely different. Great bike to relax on. Ride slow. Get in the flow. If that's what Uggy's after from his previous Fatboys, neither the Nightster or XR1200 will hit the spot.

They're just too..... thin.....
