Re: two up sporty - or chop it for a BT?

thanks for posting the photo Kev, on a serious note he has gone for the mini floorboards on the back, and a great cissy bar which adds a bit more space on the back as well.

One hell of a looker - the whole think from wheels to the paint job. Won't attract those inclined to the dark side though.

thanks, Nick

Nick,

Look through other Sporty links on rear shocks. I am fairly certain Hagon will supply shocks set up to suit your requirements, with suitable springs etc. Stay with full-length ones for best comfort.

thats the real issue to solve. i am hoping to upgrage the rear shocks in the next few weeks which will address the bottoming out.

Apart from the suspension upgrade the wife has been made much more comfortable with about 1 1/2" footpeg extensions (keeps her boots off the pipes too )

Generally there is enough room and we have done about 350 miles in a day. If we wanted to go camping for a week or two it could prove uncomfortable although a friend from another forum did about 1800 miles in 10 days with his wife from Suffolk to Scotland and back on his Sportster.

Re: two up sporty - or chop it for a BT?

ok, taken the pad off the sissy bar and that makes a tremendous difference to the amount of space and comfort. So i need to replace the bar with one that moves the pad back and up to give room for Sue's butt.

Anyone know of a medium height sissy bar which will sit higher up on sue's arse, and becaue of the angle of the bar also move the pad back giving the all important extra couple of inches?

i'm going to pop into the dealers but the price of HD stuff is horrifying.

the sissy bar/pad arrangement in the photo posted by kev looks interesting, it looks like the HD touring sissy pad but i'm not sure

k'in ell what a pain - all for an inch or two
cheers

true true, much cheaper than a BT. Well done the deed - got the mini floorboards, ordered offsets to move them out a bit and forward 2" and also the hd high sissy bar. photo to follow when done. also bought the missus an hd tee shirt to keep her happy (it worked!)
