Help please side stand problem

Anybody got any ideas?????? Wife has got quite short legs and cannot reach the side stand when it's down to be able to pull it back up. Have got the extension kit but this isn't going to sort it, does anybody know if there are any other extension kits which may help?

Push the bike forward gently and the stand will spring up itself.

by doing this you could end up damaging the side stand no matter how gently you do it.
im not totally sure about the h-d stands but with my bike stand that we put on my sportster after a while the ball bearing was squashed against the metal makin it a struggle to pull the stand in or out.

My thoughts exactly. Did you install it right?

Re: Help please side stand problem

Have you had the seat made smaller, I usually end up doing this on Sport bikes and its an inexpensive way of making the bike much lower, if its anything like my sportster theres plenty to take off, costs around £30 to have it reshaped and around £50-70 for reshape and new seat cover.

Most places that do re covering on furniture will do this, if your around the London/Kent or Essex way I could give you a guys info who makes custom seats for a living and a place that will do it also, the place that you can take it to will take the seat, the other fella will come to your house but it costs a little more.

Re: Help please side stand problem

fit shorter rear shocks and lower the entire back end of the bike may be a good place to start

Would be a lot cheaper to start with the seat.
