Checked oil tank it's dry. I've also checked the breather pipe for blockages as Bilbo suggested, that's clear too. I've spent all morning cleaning the oiled area show in pictures. The entire area is clean now so after a ride tomorrow I should have a better idea where the small oil leak is coming from.

The crankcase breather (to the right of the starter motor) is showing about 5 threads (red plastic) as if it needs screwing in more. Because of the tight space it's almost impossible to get a 1/2 inch spanner in there and tighten it up. I should have a better Idea after riding the bike tomorrow, having cleaned the area, where the oil is coming from. I know for sure that it's somewhere around the starter motor though, that's the only place where there is oil.

Thanks for the replies and help.

Re: Oil leak from around starter motor

Just to close this thread - I've just took the bike to St Leger H-D at Doncaster where 2 of them from the service department have looked at the oil leak. To cut a long story short, they have said "live with it", after some head scratching. They say it could be where the crank case splits but very much doubt it on a bike so new, from the crank case breather pipe but doubt that too after looking at it, or from the starter motor gasket but as the gasket has already been changed twice they are stumped.

It's not a big leak at all so I'll just have to give it a wipe down after cooling at the end on each ride until such a time when I can afford to trade it for a big twin.

Thanks again all.
