Wink hog flu...

Firstly Hi to all who read this. with appologies to anyone who has posted/or answered these questions before.
It is my first post & my first Harley... Its awesome!
my ride has developed a sneeze/miss it is not consistant but has started to effect the performance especially at low speeds. It is an 06' carbed 883L with 1200cc conversion,stage1 karayken hypercharger c/w s&s show pipes.
Now with my very limited understanding of machanics I would hazard a guess a fuel, spark plugs (or what?.)
I do use ron 97/99 unleaded is this wrong... as I said I am limited in my machanical knowledge I am looking for what would be the easy options to check out first after changing the fuel type back to 95 ron (after current fuel tank use of coarse).
By the way it is a used bike with a used bike warrenty from a harley stealaship..

Re: hog flu...

Have you checked for any fault codes........ HERE If it's still under warranty pop it back to the dealers, let them do all the diagnostics and if it's still not right keep taking it back until it is.

Wink Re: hog flu...

Welcome aboard. I'm with Reaper (grim I know) but if you have not had it long call at the dealer you got it from. Phone in advance and arrange to visit them, so they can have someone available when you arrive. Be nice to them, you want them to fix it!

There are various possible sources of such things, which can quickly be diagnosed by a mechanic, less easily so by enthusiasts over the internet!

Re: hog flu...

thanks to all who replied ,
this is my third time of writting this !! as aswell as my lack of machanical knowledge my computer skills are losing it too (clicked on the wrong thing twice doh!!)
there are plenty of things to check out..
so after reading your comments, i took it to the local stealership, as i travelled about 160miles to buy this bike from a stealership up north (had all the modifications i liked) i thought i should go local. i should really lay of these guys as i didn't have it booked in, but they said the would have a quick look. they sprayed around the necessary parts and told me the were no air leaks. so i can rule that one out.
i asked them for the price of a new crank shaft position sensor £58.96 incl 15% vat Part no 32707-01c.

they did not check or tell me they checked the diagnostics so i had a look myself they all said none then i clicked it again each one said p - pn32897-046, s - pn68924-00d, sp - pn67290-04, t - no rsp ( think this is because it has not got one) and i am not sure what they mean i could not clear them becuase i wasn't sure what to do or how to.

gonna try the different fuel type next, put half a tank in just to give it a go.

if that don't work i won't panic as sKorch has said its a sporty thing (they all do that sir) and it could be i just need to get used to riding it after the fuel injected jap bike i had before.

Ps..... i rode the bike today, it farted / sneezed once earley on. then sweet as it could be for the rest of the ride even in slow traffic .

thanx again for your responses i'm off for another ride

I bought "stage 2" jets from ebay. It will only ever sneeze now first thing on cold mornings. When warmed up it's fine.
They are set to run very lean on the standard ones to cut emissions.
