I would still need it fitting though, that's what's put me off buying from Heide.

Thanks

Re: Tyre Help

Dunlop rear and Avon front? Now you're asking! I'm staying out of that...

I was just going to edit my last post and say that, I'll drop in tomorrow and have a word with her.

Thanks for the help...

P.s. Does anyone have any advice on mixing (or not, the case may be) the factory Dunlop rear tyre with a new Avon Venom front?

P.p.s This H-D Dunlop factory front has done 6000 miles and just about still has a mil of tread left, 1000 miles since I have owned the bike, Is this normal wear for a Dunlop 21" front?

Re: Tyre Help

If it was mine I would put the Avon on the front and when the rear is worn out replace that with an Avon. Otherwise you will be stuck with Dunlop. SMD charge £10 I think to take off your wheel but check with them. Only 1hr 30 mins ride from you taking it very easy.

I am on mixed tyres ie Dunlop/Avon on Sportster.

Re: Tyre Help

Interesting - do you have a postcode for SMD Tony? It might be a good ride out, also do you have a phone number for them.

That's put my mind at rest, you are on mixed Tony. I'll start with Avon front then rear as suggested.

Thanks

Re: Tyre Help

Thanks all for the good advice given and to Tony for taking time to look up the info I asked , I just have one unanswered question;

Q: This H-D Dunlop factory front has done 6000 miles and just about still has a mil of tread left, 1000 miles since I have owned the bike, Is this normal wear for a Dunlop 21" front?

Cheers
