| Petrol tap replacement.
Got the kit through from Stadium, it says in the instruction that I need a kit to bleed the petrol out via the vacum connector, is this true?, or is there a way of doing it without one, or will it just drain when turned to reserve.

| Re: Petrol tap replacement. If you have the standard vacuum tap you will need to produce a vacuum on the vacuum port of the tap to get fuel to flow thru the tap. Can you not syphon it out or remove the tank and put it on it's side to replace the tap if not too full.

Does the vacuum tap have a 'Prime' position? Don't know the Harley tap, but Suzuki vacuum taps do have this function which lets the fuel run as a normal tap.

Fit a short hose to the vacuum connection and fit a cheap syringe to the hose. Pull the syringe and if it gives enough vacuum for the fuel to flow, clip some pegs on to stop the plunger going back in. There's no prime position. |

| Re: Petrol tap replacement.
Thanks for help, oddly enough I have a syringe from my dogs meds that fits the pipe, on one good point atleast I can get the tank off complete without spilling petrol all over the show. When I bought the fuel tap kit I bought a new filter which costs £12, the kit comes with one :\ already. Last edited by Mantis; 18-09-2009 at 06:35 PM. |
