Re: Rust 2007 1200C

On the 93 dyna that I had for 11 years and the 2004 dyna that I have now both ridden all year round,I never had a spot of rust on the paintwork
or the chrome.
Was thinking about getting a new Harley but these postings are making me think again

It's not a fix for poor quality chrome, steel and paint.

My Bike is allways clean and is kept in a centraly heated garage and the paint still fell off the mudgards, i hope they prepared the Engine better before they built it,

Re: Rust 2007 1200C

Don't bother using HD Customer services - they'll do nothing except (eventually) refer you to the dealership who supplied your bike.
I picked this up with Marjorie Rae recently following my experiences and this appears to quite a normal thing for them to do as "the dealerships have the expertise, not HD Customer services".
Luckily my local dealership looked after my rust problem really well.

Re: Rust 2007 1200C

Well the bubbling on the front mud guard has gone further and its now flaking off! Dealer has ordered new front and rear guards - happy with that BUT are they going to change them again if it happens again once the warrentee runs out (should be two years from replacement surely!)

Re: Rust 2007 1200C

Someone told me today that he had heard the frame and cycle parts are now made in China. Any truth in this?
