2002 Sportie ignition module.

My mechanic tells me my bike's lack of spark is due to the ignition module being shot. HD have quoted £270 plus VAT for a new one. Does anyone out there know of any cheaper alternatives ? I'm only trying to get her going so I can get her traded in. Other wise I'd probably bite the bullet and pay for a Harley one. Any advice gratefully received !

Try girlyglide, they run Fatboyzdiner, and are a club member. Used them before, good service from them.

Go into the community button at the top of the screen, then onto forum user list, page two in the "G" section. Either pm or e-mail them.

Re: 2002 Sportie ignition module.

I've got one from a 1992 883. I don't know what changes have been made since then but if it fits and works you can have it for not a lot.
Only thing is I live at the tail end of Cornwall so you're probably 100's of miles away; most people are.

Chuck the junk away and fit a points conversion kit and points coil. This is relatively easy to do, is cheap and will make the bike run more than well enough to trade it.
