2007 883R Battery Removal

Wanted to take the battery off the bike for recharging but could I feck stop the alarm going off as I removed the terminal cable connections

Looked at the manual and thats unclear

Do I have to fully disable the alarm by using my indicators .... bit reluctant as it requires code inputs etc and I fear I may feck it all up

When I removed my battery on my Nightster to fit a fuel pack I left the ignition on but turned the engine run switch off before I disconnected it, the alarm didn't go off and I had no problems when I re-connected it. As for disabling the alarm, how would it affect say a claim for attempted theft/stolen recovered if the insurance company found out you had disabled it.........

Seem to have got a bit sidetracked but if its like my Nightster its simple put the key in the ignition and turn on then remove the main fuse behind the left cover, which you need to take off to get the battery out anyway. Reverse the procedure after charging. No codes required.
