Normal Clutch Behaviour

I have a 2009 883 Sportster with stage 1, it has done a 1000 miles and just had its first service. As the weather is a lot colder now I notice particularly when it is cold if I am going in and out of the clutch in thick traffic I get a little clonking noise and feel when engaging and disengaging the clutch. Other than this the bike is spot on, as this is the first winter it has been out wondered whether this was normal when particularly cold?

Neutral is easy to find and the gearchanges are all fine (eg usual HD Sportster clacky)

Re: Normal Clutch Behaviour

Thought so, being a new rider and this being my first bike I am amazed at how close you are to the mechanical clunks, whirrs and clacks that these fantastic machines make.

I reckon within a few years should be able to save up for a Streetbob next

Re: Normal Clutch Behaviour

Yep, normal, perhaps just let the clutch out a little bit more gently when hot {in traffic} and it will be better.
