After it pops up, just turn it anti-clockwise. They are a little stiff. It will come out. Check it after it has been running & warm.

Like wot Phil said.
They've got a reputation for being stiff. Rubber gloves help and have the additional benefit of giving you a kinky thrill, if that's what turns you on.

Dreadful design. Very difficult to undo. On the other side you will find the side panel might well come off when you don't want it to do so.. It is a good idea to tie it on. The temp guage filler caps are a little easier to use.

it had chrome side panels when i got and i cable tied em both on

I hadn't rode it to last week as i never bothered getting a license when i rode years back in the 80`s and yearly 90`s

so have been doing it legal this time

I think its fooked ill get on to stealer Monday they were the last too touch it for service

it just won budge iv been at half and hour or more it will turn a 1/4 turn ainti clockwise with a lot of effort

but it will not come out at all
Iv tried everything bar attacking it with mole grips which aint agood idear on anything

top chrome cap come off twice just buy the pressure needed to turn it
but does seem to click back on

anyone had one stuck like this before ?
and how did you get it out

Re: proberly a stupid question/oil filler cap

update managed to get it off but it so tight the chrome cap will come off first then just buy the force needed to turn it

then to get it out it will come if you grab it with a rag and twist the hell out of it and same to get it back

i suspect it aint been undun may times in its life

As Tony says buy yourself the temp gauge version it's a different design, easier to use and a nice addition to your bike............
