Sportster XL883L Luggage

Hi. I have just bought a 2010 HD single seat Sportster and I have fitted the HD detatchable luggage rack and docking kit. I just wondered if anyone has bought and can recommend some luggage for this rack that they have used? Looked around and there are so many options and types to choose from, not sure whats best, need about 30 to 40 litre capacity. Appreciate and advice

Re: Sportster XL883L Luggage

I was thinking soft and it will only have occaisional use i.e weekend trips etc and will not be on the bike all the time. Thinking about it something with a few side pockets as opposed to just a simple "bag" would be ideal. Thank you

Re: Sportster XL883L Luggage

IMO the Frank Thomas Cargo touring panniers are excellent. They are textile and have a main (expandable) area, an end pocket and 2 smaller pockets (that run the lenght of the pannier/saddlebag), self repairing zips, they are heavy showerproof and have rain covers for torrentials. Adjustable for height etc. used em for a few years now. if you want the "look" then perhaps leather which others will no doubt advise on.

I used the Kuryakyn Gran Tour bag on my Sportster. Excellent quality, roomy and loads of useful pockets. Has D rings to attach other things to the outside.
