Re: Passing lamps

If its a late model, just pull the rubber boot and change the bulb.
Boots sealed on with silicone, craft knife and carefully work around and remove so you can re-use it.
Re-seal with any silicone, bathroom stuff will suffice.

H3 bulb at halfords.

Make sure and bend the retaining spring on re-install, lots of pressure, this stops them blowing.

Older sealed version? Someone'll know something.

Hi harleyfatboy, If its a sealed beam unit you can buy them at a disco sound and lighting supplier, should be in yellow pages. It should be a par-36 30 watt check your old lamp first.I bought pair for £16 and you can get different colours.

Passing Lamps

Both my passing lamps have gone on the blink !

Took out the sealed beam units and put a multimeter across the live n earth , and to my surprise it indicated standing 20V . With the engine off and the battery only giving out 11.9 Volts I'm racking my brains to the source of this .
When the passing light switch is pressed you can hear the relay clicking and the voltage drops to 0V.

I believe the premature demise of both sealed units is down to my missus attempting to hear the audiable delights of my new air horns, but unfortunatly kept vigorosly pressing, the passing light switch instead.

Just ordered two new halogen units from MandM cycles for $59 + shipping.
