Thumbs up TYRES: All you should ever need to know :-)

I have had my 2002 883R for a few months now and it has 5000 miles on it.
The tyres are Dunlop H - D, which are the originals i think.
The back one seems a bit square so I`m thinking of getting a new pair.
What is the usual milage in a pair of these tyres?
Any other tyres recommended?
How much for 2 tyres, H - D dealer fitted?
Cheers

Re: Tyres needed ??

DIY if you can, I was quoted £190 for a back tyre at my dealer, got an Avon fitted to loose wheel for £68.

Re: Tyres needed ??

search for tyres, there is loads of info on here! i had my hd dunlops on my sporty when i got it last year, and i put 7500 miles on them. i just got some conti tours which are very good, and cost £190 fitted. the dealers charge way over the top for an inferior tyre, and then charge a whole lot more for fitting!

Where are you in the country? Then we might be able to pin point a supplier near to you.

Fatboy Tyres

Having now been recommended to after the rear was getting down along with a puncture, I have just replaced my standard Dunlops
with Avon Venoms.

Front MT90 B16
Rear 150/80 B16
Both none white walls.

Manuals for my model show 36psi in both for the Dunlops

The dealer who fitted and balanced says Avon show 44 psi in rear with 38 psi in front.
Avons web site does not show this info.
Does anybody have any links where this can be seen/confirmed or can anyone actually confirm this is OK.

Go to the Avon site on this link, just enter the details of your bike and it will show the recommended tyres and the pressures
