Crankshaft dimensions

Does anyone have a Harley crankshaft....any cubic inch will do laying on the bench they could take some measurements from for me.
I've got several pictures to use as reference but no actual crank to take measurements from.

I have been commisioned to make a scaled down replica of one, polish the f*ck out of it and mount it on a polished wood stand, and it will be presented to the person who wins 'Best in Show' at this years Anglia Rally (Boozy Bash 3) in June. There will be other trophies for other categories, but not hand made ones like this.

The measurements I need to get it looking as accurate as possible are:

1. Diameter of flywheels.
2. Thickness of flywheels.
3. Distance between flywheels.
4. Distance from centre of crank pin (big end) to edge of the flywheel.
5. Length of con rods (centre to centre).
6. Width and depth of con rods ie 1/2" x 1"
7. Diameter and lengths of both main bearing shafts + any detail you might be able to give me.
8. Diameter of piston.
9. Length of piston from crown to skirt.
10. Measurement from crown of piston to centre of gudgeon pin (or as the yanks call it a 'wrist pin').
11. Diameter of gudgeon pin.

These can all be done with a steel rule if that's all you have as long as you get them as accurate as possible for me.

When it's finished, I'll post a picture of it, and who knows....if you come to our Rally with your tasty looking bike, you might be going home with it. The invite is open to anyone from any Region.

And before anyone asks......I'm not allowed to enter my bike in our show .

Thanks in advance if you can help...I'd like to get started as soon as possible as it's not going to be a quick job.....and we're giving it away to whoever deserves to have it.

Brian.

Thanks, if it's ok, I'll have them anyway even if someone else gives me some.

Is that a good idea Tony, are you sure she won't scare the punters away

Don't let her read this I know you will, now I'm dead.

Re: Crankshaft dimensions

If you have the parts book Brian, you should be able to scale the dimensions form the exploded view? You would have to make some allowance for the isometric view, but shouldn't be too difficult.

If you don't have a parts book, I do.

Take a look at this too.

Re: Crankshaft dimensions

I've got a parts book thanks. I'll use the picture in it to get the detail right. I've had two offers of the correct measurements now from the two people I was hoping would reply, so I'll wait for them to send me what I need. Then I'll fire the lathe and miller up, and see what I can come up with.....shouldn't be too hard.

Re: Crankshaft dimensions

I've got all the dimensions I need now thanks to Phil (girlyglide) at Fatboyz.
He took photos of everything I needed to know with the measurements. It must have taken you a long time to do this Phil.....thanks mate.

I've decided that as someone is going to have to take this home with them from our Rally, it needs to be quite small and light. So, 1/2 the original size is what I'm going for.

As and when I machine the parts up, I'll show you how it's coming along.

I wish I was in with a chance to win it

Brian.
