Handlebar vibration

Just wondering if anyone has tried putting a bit of thin rubber at the handlebar mounting point. Mine seems to want to self destruct at 2000 rpm and letting go of one side of the bars seems to make it feel like an earthquake! But onlt at that rpm. Maybe there is a tightening sequence that makes a difference? interested in any thoughts.

Re: Handlebar vibration

If this is the 2001 FXDX,are you saying that since fitting a new front engine mount, the vibration period has moved from 3,000 rpm and above,to 2000 rpm?

This works for me and many others:

Fill your handlebars with silicone, it stops vibration.

I am not ready to say that definatively yet Dave but that is how it seems. However i have also replaced the standard "cow" handlebars with fat boy style at the same time.
