removing tank badge glue residue ?

Ive got an anniversary V rod, which came with a fairly rubbish little plastic 100th badge close to where the seat meets the airbox cover. its fallen off and its no great loss, but its left a little patch of glue which cleaning hasnt managed to shift. What can I put on it to remove the glue residue without harming the aluminium ?

Ta

Pete

Try a drop of white spirit or petrol on a very soft rag.

SOME GLUE RESIDUE CAN BE REMOVED BY HEATING IT UP WITH A HAIRDRYER

I generally use propan-2-ol (commonly known as isopropyl alcohol or isopropanol). Readily available from your local pharamcy. Usually does the trick, but give it a few mins to soak into the residue.

Not sure how drinkable it is but I believe is OK if sufficiently diluted

Hi, i have used Swan lighter fluid in the past, gets rid of all residue and does not harm paint.
Got rid of the sticky stuff left behind after removing stickers, works for me

Re: removing tank badge glue residue ?

A word of warning...Acetone eats plastic...the girlies use it to remove nail varnish so think what it will do to paint

Honest, don't go near the bike with it.
