Lacquer peeling advice

Hi,

Wonder if anyone can advise, recently had the tank resprayed, now the lacquer around the fuel cap is lifting. The paint seems fine but it's a case of the fumes getting under the lacquer.

There shouldn't be a problem getting the lacquer reapplied but i'm concerned that it will simply happen again, unless he tries something different. He certainly seems to think it's inevitable.

The painter states it's due to the tank not being vented, what ever that means?

Has anyone any expereince of this and is there a remedy.

As always any advice appreciated.
