| Re: Whats the best oil to use ? The largest independant test was conducted on motorcycle oils last year and is available to see here http://www.amsoil.com/lit/g2156.pdf Get squite heavy in places but no one has sued saying the test results are wrong! The one that made me think is that the worst oil for corrosion protction is that one advertised to stick to metal and prevent all of this..... the power of advertising. | Re: Whats the best oil to use ? Any good quality clean oil with no friction reducers for the gearbox. I use 10W/50 fully synthetic comma £20 for 5L and 70/90 semi synthetic comma gearbox oil £15 for 5L (I also use this for oiling the chain on my bandit.) HD oil is overpriced IMHO. Also the V Twin is a low revving simple engine and I am sure that all modern oils out perform the oils available when the sportster was born 50 years ago. |
