DAB Radio

I am looking for a Sony XT 100 DAB tuner, cannot find one anywhere. No longer listed by Sony.

Re: DAB Radio

Yes I have looked on EBay but nothing doing. As you say, until the Standard is sorted out I do not want to invest to much.
It seems we could have a Satellite system like the US, a system like the French or stay with what we have if the EU let us.
A system should be available in Italy soon, sponsored by the EU which is probably what we will have to go with. Analogue radio is being turned off soon with very little publicity, every one seems to know about the television going to Digital but not their radios.

What do you call soon?

I think you will find that Ofcom has recommended a review date for AM in 2009 and a review date for FM of 2012. Please note that these are the recomended review dates, not cut off dates.

I work for National Grid Wireless and we carry the analogue broadcasts at the moment. We also carry several of the DAB radio broadcasts along with Freeview and several other mediums.

The DSO ( Digital Switch Over ) is a major operation and the dates for television switchover are different depending on which region you are in.

Re: DAB Radio

I read that the FM channels shut down in about three years and the AM in about five. There are an estimated 150 million radio sets in this country which will be working perfectly but not have a signal to receive. Very good for environment, dumping that lot in the Far East.
