Re: bolts

They will be UNF or UNC.

Measure diameter of bolt (not spanner size of head) will be 5/16"-3/8" etc.

Next measure length. This is from UNDER the head in inches.

Next measure number of threads per inch. (TPI). A ruler is good enough for this, count the number of threads (teeth) that fit in 1 inch.If the bolt is shorter, measure over 1/2 inch and double it.

At the bottom of the UNC/UNF bolt page it gives you the TPI for each size,ie 3/8" UNF= 24 TPI 3/8" UNC= 16 TPI.

NOTE:Bolts are only threaded part way,if you want threads all the way up you need HEX HEAD SCREWS.

If it was me I'd look elsewhere as I have concerns about the integrity of a company that says Whitworth and UNC are the same. They're not, there's 5 degrees diff in the thread angle. They will go together but will never "fit"

Have a look here in the MULTI-FIT file at the bolt caps.

Check out page 26 of the file.

Re: bolts

Find what you want in the above book, and then order from these people. I've used them several times for chrome or stainless steel.

Re: bolts

You could also try these people. I got my stainless stuff from them and they were brilliant on price, quality and delivery.

They'll send you a price list for all their other stuff as well.
