Re: billet wheel polishing

Solvo is abrasive and greasy. It's hard work to use as well, there are better things around. Try looking at some of the 'Mothers' products. Solvo will scratch laquers etc.

Re: billet wheel polishing

clean them with S100 wheel cleaner and lots and lots of cold water (does not active road salt) then polish with a non abrasive polish like luster lace/meguiars/mothers , DO NOT POLISH with solvol it will turn them cloudy

Re: billet wheel polishing

If you're just shining up a laquered surface, I'd use a cloth. When I polished the lower fork legs up on my Road King, I used various grades of abrasive on one of those triangular detail sanders that you use in the house for decorating. Then buffing wheels on a drill, but mask the whole bike up unless you want to clean all of it afterwards. I looked like a coal miner when I'd finished...it goes everywhere. I used Mothers mag and aluminium polish. Worked well.

Re: billet wheel polishing

More info needed.

Are the bare billet, lacquered billet or chrome billet.

Never use auto sol on chrome.

Re: billet wheel polishing

Auto sol is a fantastic product. I use it as a harsh polish after mopping. Meguires NXT is very good as a fine polish. Just use a good quality wax on the chrome.
