| Mig Welding I'm making a part for my Road King that requires me to tack weld it when it's on the bike. I know that I have to disconnect the batery first so I don't damage the alternator. Is there anything else that could get damaged by the sudden amperage surge going through it. What else should I do to prevent any electrical damage whilst welding. Thanks for any advice. Brian.

| Re: Mig Welding You leave the battery connected and clip a voltage surge protector across the battery - protects the ecu. Draper make them as do lots of others |

| Re: Mig Welding Connect the mig earth return as close as you can to the area being welded. Watch out for the HAZ as it will affect the strength of whatever you are welding. |
