Clothing

Well the BMW jacket is on ebay and I've been toying with buying one of those lovely Harley jackets, with the lovely soft leather etc

- but almost £375 new!

Are the jackets better than the usual leathers? Do you people buy Harley leathers or other stuff?

I'm looking for some decent, comfortable leathers and don't mind parting with the cash if this clothing is better than the usual stuff.

Re: Clothing

Personally I don't think H-D leathers or anything come to that is better than any other reputable supplier.

You are surely paying for the name emblazoned on it? Like any fashion item. I have H-D tees that are no better than a £10 independents ones.

Anyway leather jackets are no good in the rain.

Have a look in our suppliers section here;

Re: Clothing

Vanson's are pretty good.

I'm sure the jacket I had was made by cutting the arse of a cow, scooping the inside out and putting a zip up the middle.

Re: Clothing

I personally wouldn't bother with the Harley jackets myself. You'll be able to find a decent jacket for much less that is at least as good.

If you want to spend buckets of money, then MTM would be your best bet.

Cheers,
Rob.

Re: Clothing

Thanks for that - I thought as much.

I've got the textile stuff and just fancied some leathers for the Spring and Summer etc.

Re: Clothing

I've got a Harley jacket, it saved my skin when I went surfing down the road top one day - can't fault it and best of all it didn't have all the eagles and such like on it. I still use it, now it just looks like I've been fighting werewolves.

point is, wear what you feel comfortable in and something that will protect you if the worst case scenario does happen, not what someone else tells you to wear.

Re: Clothing

Bikers Gearbox in Matlock Bath and Bikers Paradise in Coventry are both absolutley top notch, and half the price of Harley kit. Good quality, thick leather and well made.

The MoCo can shove their officially trademarked, overpriced stuff as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for that - may sneak down there this week.

There are some lovely looking HD jackets etc, but I think that I'd look a right pratt in the ones that I like the look of!

Re: Clothing

Check out (St Pauls Harley Davidson) on Amazon.com.
Bought a new leather jacket from them a few weeks ago.
It worked out at just over £220, including shipping and VAT etc.
